Hello and Welcome!
People ask me what inspired me to become an author, to write,
"The Devil Behind Closed Doors".
Well truth is I started this book 20 years ago, but I never had the strength to finish it. It was just too hard to relive those times, especially after I have worked so hard to get where I am today mentally and emotionally. I was lucky to find a woman that saw the good in me, even when all I saw was a monster.
She showed me how to heal, how to forgive not just myself, but my abusers. My father for all the terrible things he did to my family, and my mother for using my love and commitment to protect against me, by manipulating me. I am a lot stronger now and so I made it my life's goal to finish my book(s). To tell my story and hopefully send a message of healing and hope out into the world.
I was born and raised in good state of Kentucky. I grew up in what was a small town of Elizabethtown. On the outside looking in my family was just an ordinary family. No one would ever have known we were living with a very abusive father and husband because he would use fear to maintain our silence and control. I started writing this book decades ago, but as I would try to relive the nightmares my family endured, it was too much.
I am 50 years old now, still in Elizabethtown with kids and a wonderful supportive wife, and a lot stronger emotionally. I made it a goal of mine to finish my book. You see The Devil Behind Closed Doors isn't just a book. It's based on my own personal experiences.
Through my words I hope to get a message of hope out to anyone in an abusive situation.
THERE IS HELP!
You do not have to feel trapped like my family did. You are not alone, and you can get out. You do not have to be a victim to your abuser(s) anymore. With help and inner strength, you can rise up and find self-worth, forgiveness, and inner peace. YOU CAN BECOME A SURVIVOR.
I hope you enjoy.
My book is about not just terror and abuse, but survival through the darkness.
More books to come.

Well first off, I have always loved to write. I started off with corny poems to my middle school girlfriends, to some really decent poems while I was in jail, that wasn't my passion though. Since I got out of jail and really struggled to live a normal life without my father's abuse, my mother's manipulation, and my own internal struggle to see myself worthy of anything. I wanted people to know my story to understand why I did what I did, because society was brutal, people everywhere that saw...
